Local Florida Wildlife

Take only pictures, leave only footprints.

The Peace River is home to a variety of species of wildlife, fishes, birds, and reptiles. From alligators to eagles and bobcats to squirrels. They all exist as part of a unique ecological system.

So, bring your binoculars, bring your camera and take back wonderful memories of your trip.

But please do not mistake these beautiful creatures as cute pets. Do not coax them to come up to you and for God's sake DO NOT FEED OR AGGRAVATE them. Some do bite back!

If you would like to learn more about what kinds of creatures you may see along the river visit the Florida Conservation website.

The State of Florida site offers in-depth information on about 137 wildlife viewing destinations around the state and you can learn about a selection of Florida's most fascinating wildlife species.
